There is a good article in the new issue of Outdoor Photographer about B&W images.
Thought I would try it on one of my wildlife images.

There are some outstanding aspects of that photo, the look and feel is terrific. A couple of problems i see are; i'd like to see a little more, the cutoff horn and beard are distracting. Also. the snow on the head seems a tad bright, almost sunlit, which doesnt mesh with the general atmosphere.

I like the abstract feel of this image.

Sort of on the same topic, I've converted some files to B&W and they look great but even after profiling my printer (Epson 1280) and calibrating my monitor (NEC Crt) I can't make a print with no color cast. I suppose I need to use some of the special inks that I've read about. Any thoughts on which ones are best?

Nice one Dan and I like the processing. Even though the whites are bright in spots, I think it hammers home the harshness of the weather. I like the crop as it zeros in on the bison's expression...love that you caught it's tongue like that,
