I'm working on a borrowed laptop at the moment and using different software so it would be great to get an idea of how this shot looks to everyone else.

I'm converting in RawShooter Essentials and then crop/resize/usm in PS7.

Canon 1Dmk2 - 600L IS + 1.4x - F8 - 1/4000 - iso 640

Took this a few weeks ago and not quite sure how come I used those settings, I think I may of been looking for flight shots of Mallard hense the high iso?? note to self to check my settings.

I've just managed to get a look of this on my old crt and it looks like it has a layer of golden syrup on in!!!!!! well one of them is definately way of the mark

It would be good if you say how it looks, for example too dark, too much satuation, colour casts etc

I just had a look at some of the posts I've commented on today which at the time I viewed on the laptop but this time through my old crt and they now to me appear to lack detail in the dark areas and are very soft looking.

I dont get it, I've sent some images to a friend and they were absolutely fine, yet already the one above would appear to have issues to someone else but looks great to me.

Hi Raff

I work on a calibrated Eizo and I have just down loaded it and had a play in Photoshop and I don't think it is too far out. A simple 'levels' adjustment was all I made to make it a little brighter and I also tweaked the colour balance in 'levels' to make it a little less yellow as it seems clear to me that with the reeds and low lighting this was pretty much the overall colour of the image as you saw it. I like it!

Hi,
If this was very late in the day in the last hour or so of golden light then the yellow cast is fairly representitive of how I'd expect the image to look.
As David says a little brightening would work well here.
Sharpness and shadow areas look ok on my screen (CRT)
