hi
i've just joined the lee valley nature photographers on wednesday but couldn't make it to the meeting on thursday.

i wondered if there are any members on this site who could tell me what i might be able to photograph at the hides. As i would like to know what to expect before going and don't want to wait a month for the next meeting.

any help?

heh....u're not alone mate. I joined last april but lost my maps. Now i not only do not know what to shoot in winter, i don't know where as well. Will you be there for the weekend bird fair? Perhaps we can meet up?

Hi Jack,

I am a member and visit the hides regularly. There is only really one that is any good IMO which is the 'Mound' hide. At this site, you can photograph Jays, woodpecker, great tit, blue tit and few other things if you are lucky. Give me a shout if you can't find them, and I will come and show you the locations.

Regards Chris.

Hi Chris,

Where is the "Mound Hide" ? Is it near the Public Conveniences near the Bittern Hide?

Cheers

Jack

I would suggest that you contact Gordon Bramham the current chairman of the Lee Valley Photographers Group, knowing Gordon, I’m sure he will do all he can to help.

Gordon will know what is going on and where, and if he doesn’t, then I’m sure he will know a man that does.

It would be inappropriate for me to give out his contact details here, so if you have any problems contacting him, just contact me, and I will pass on your request.

Hope this helps.

Ray
