Hi, I just wanted to say that my first experiences as a new member have been very positive and the feedback that I got on a photo that I posted was very constructive. It confirmed for me that my monitor was set a bit too bright and so I had adjusted a darker evening shot a lttle too dark. It's hard getting used to an LCD after using a CRT for so long  .

Please correct me if I'm wrong but am I right in assuming that the critique forums (?fora?) are for the purpose of getting that kind of constructive feedback?

I find that the members here are mature, courteous and helpful. This is kind of like an online camera club and a much more pleasent experience than my first foray into an online photography site.

Great big thanks

Bob: You are completely right about the people here and about their helpfulness. This is really the only online place that I visit with regularity (many times a day ) just for that reason.

We are having a great time over in floral, post away!

Welcome, Bob. I hope you continue to enjoy it here at NPN. I have and certainly feel it is a great community to have found.

Bob, I have to agree with you about NPN. I came aboard about the same time as you and I have seen nothing but a great community with great people and of course phenomenal photography. I started posting in the galleries recently and the critques and suggestions are wonderful, helpful and positive. While my photos give plenty of opportunity for some pretty harsh feedback, I haven't seen anything like that here. It truly is a place where the adults can talk to each other in a kind and congenial manner even while giving some direct and honest feedback. Thanks for posting this! :wavey: And Nathan is right, there's some pretty awesome work being displayed over in Floral.
