A few weekends ago, after visiting my new grandson, I helped out my daughter by taking their dog for a ride in the country. Since my dad had been house-bound by the recent winter weather I swung by to get him too. They both love to ride in the car, it doesn't matter where you're going. So we headed out into the country looking for places to photograph. I spent the next 4 hours driving every country road I could find .... and I only had to tell my dad once to get his head back in the window! Took this shot hand held just before we arrived back home.

This is really nice Wayne. The stream leads my eye through the frame where there's a lot to look at. And the soft contrast of the tops of the weeds set against the ice really draws me in. The B&W conversion was a good choice too, IMO. Thanks for posting!

Thought you'd sneak that 5D purchase past us? Congrats on the new camera!
I really like this, Wayne - it has such a nice wintery and cold mood. I like the way the river winds through the picture - the small bluff is a nicely presented in a the diagonal and the trees kind of fade off into the distance. Good contrast and wonderful light. Nice job!

Yep, you caught me Tim! This is the first picture I've posted with the new body. I've had it since December but I've only taken a few images to check the quality, just no time. I have done some portraiture with it and I can say with certainty, it's got some great detail and produces some smooth tones. I can't wait to try it in earnest with landscape & macro work, probably this spring during the CSNP gathering! BTW, thanks for the comments!
