Slimbridge Shelduck
Hi All

Nice to see a few UKNP faces again at Slimbridge today. My first nature photgraphy outing for 2007, not exactly great light today. Dull and murky in the morning, turning to very dull and very murky in the afternoon. I decided to camp out in my favourite hide, the South Lakes, and just see how it went. It is usually good for some flight shots and also some birds occasionally close in to the hides. I missed the grey heron and GC Grebe which appeared very briefly close in front of the hides, but unfortunately not in front of me.

This shelduck entertained for a while....

Canon 20D, 300mm F4 L + 1.4x TC, ISO 400, f7.1, 1/160th, eval metering +1/3rd, tripod, slight crop from LHS.

cheers

Sean

Hi Sean,
Weather may have been dull but the image certainly isn't. :toast:

Under the contitions Sean I think the Dull Day did wonders for those whites, nicely captured showing loads of detail especially in the eye.

Lovely shot Sean. And as said; dull weather is often better for the whites!

Hi Jack

Yes you did see me there. You were probably stood next to me when I took this shot. Apologies for not saying hello, I didn't recognise you. I hope you managed some decent shots yourself on what was a difficult day for photography, and I hope you found your lens cap.

cheers
