Sea kayak??!!! Nancy & I just bought a Wilderness Systems Tempest 165 & a 180!! We do live in "Sea Kayaking Heaven" don't we???!!!

Now on to your image - I'm liking the shapes and textures quite well. Technicals are spot on too!! Good work!!

I'llhave to agree that the shapes and textures work quite well together. I really have to give this image a thumbs up.
As for you folks and sea Kayaking. You should check out Telegraph cove on Vancouver Island. Pretty amazing! Also a REAL interesting place is Vargus Island real close to Tofino on Vancouver Island. My wife and I stopped there and it's quite a nice respite from the vigors of being on the sea for days on end. There is a main lodge and cabins that are quite tacky but comfortable. We will NEVER forget our trip to this island. Give it a google and check it out.

Nice detail, David. Interesting you used a 5700 in EWA Housing. That was my first didital then I stepped up to it bigger brother the 8800. I like the freedom from lens changing and heavy glass. Its going to take a lot to move me to DSLR because I get such good results with the 8800's fine glass.

How do you like the EWA housing?

BTW, your WWW link in your signature is a bad link. It has //http://http//www.photo.net/photos/Coho which no browser can resolve. You should fix this so people can link to your site.

Erik : I have kayaked at both Telegraph Cove and Vargas Island and you are correct, they are both real nice places. Did you go out to Johnstone Straight from Telegraph Cove?
Another real nice thing to do off Vancouver Island, is to visit to Barkley Sound area. Several years ago, we stayed at Sechart lodge and did day trips for a week. At that time, lodging, and 3 meals per day was about $70 US per person. If you wanted to visit the outer islands, you could charter a water taxi at a reasonable rate and they would drop you off and pick you up. Plus they would give you a bag lunch for the day.

Craig: The EWA Marine housing worked very well with the Coolpix 5700 because all the operations could be controlled by accessible buttons in the bag and nothing moves. I have an interesting set up with the lens against port of the housing. The camera never gets wet. I have taken it under water without problems. I believe it is safe up to 20 m. depth. The only thing you have to watch his condensation in the bag and I have some desiccant that I put in the bag with the camera seems to solve this problem. By the way, I tried to fix the link previously and apparently it reverted back to the original double HTTP address so I don't really know what's going on with the site. Thanks for pointing this out to me.
