I don't have the money to buy a nice printer, and here in Miami (where I currently am living for a few months) has no decent labs. Anyone ever use http://www.printroom.com? They seem to support a bunch of different profiles, and look pretty professional. Anyone ever use it or another online printing service? Cheers! :toast:

I use WHCC for nearly all my printing, and they've been great. I don't print any quantity that could justify buying my own printer, so this is perfect for me. Great final product, great prices, and they're fast, too. Highly recommended.

I've used MPIX a few times (all 12x18 or smaller) and been pretty happy with them. Good prices, good service...

I would look into using Costco upto 12x18 prints, at this size its only $2.99 and they are all on Fuji Crystal Archival Paper, they have gloss and matte options to, you can upload to any Costco anywhere in the country as well. Plus you can get color profiles for each different printer at everystore from drycreekphoto.com.

I really like the professionalism of MPIX. They are an affiliate of Miller Labs which is a very highly regarded professional lab.

They offer great prices, high quality paper, very good packaging, quick turn around time and excellent results. I have tried about 12 different online services and MPIX is definitely my favorite.

Jon:

Since you mentioned that you were looking for "decent labs" and not necessarily the cheapest printing alternative, you might consider contacting Nat Coalson. He's a member here who prints with an artist's eye toward output.

I've used Nat exclusively for all prints under four feet long and always been very pleased with the images. In addition to the latest and greatest matte and glossy papers, Nat prints on canvas, silk and other media. His suggestions about which paper (or other media) would best compliment my images have always been spot-on.

With regard to the "online" part of your request, Nat accepts images through FTP uploads, sends invoices, and accepts payment online. If this is the type of online printmaking you are looking for just drop Nat a line at Nat@NatCoalson.com.

Good luck in your search for a printmaker,
