Brown Hare
I took this picture in Norfolk the other weekend, I have a few images of Hares on film so it was nice to get some coverage on digital. The mating season is well under way and this spot is excellent for Hares as they seem to be everywhere, so I will be back to try for more.

Canon EOS 1D MKII, 500mm Lens, F8, 1/250, ISO Rating 200

Danny,

Really like the warm tones here... and you have to love those eyes, look forward to seeing more... our locals seem to have gone into hiding.

Excellent image. I like the low angle and warm light.

Unless this is how it was, personally I feel it could be just a tad lighter/more contrast. It looks a little mutted to me. Or it could just be my monitor. Either way it looks pretty good as-is.

Nice image as ever Danny - off to Norfolk for a couple of days early next week - visiting my folks and grabbing some last Winter and it seems first Spring stuff while I'm there hopefully!!

Now just imagine a sprinkling of Norwegian snow on this eh!!

Hi DAnny,

Very nicely composed image. The light is wonderful. Good skills.

Thanks for your info about Norfolk. Had a good weekend, though not as photographically excellent as I would have hoped, it was still good and your info was useful. Beer was good anyway :toast:

Excellent as is. Doesn't look as though it needs more contrast to me. Lovely light.

super stuff Danny, would love to have a decent shot of a hare in my files

One summer I put a pond in the middle of a stubble field and the hide in the ditch nearby (which was full of nettles  using a bean bag at ground level with my 500mm lens) and had Hares and Roe Deer coming in to drink usually very early am when the light was too low for any decent shots, then the farmer ran the plough through it and my project was over never had chance to repeat this project, no chance this summer but one day... :jump:

Lovely shot Danny, especially like the light as it almost feels like you're there with the hare - very evocative.
