Well this Sunday afternoon my brother and I decided to drive up to Larch Mountain and see if we could get up into the clouds and shoot some foggy and misty forest shots. We had about a 30 minute opening before the snow begain to fall heavily. We decided to high tail it down the mountain before the roads got bad. I shot about 35 images and couldn't quite make my mind up on which one to go with. D2x, 28-70 f2.8 afs, 1/6 sec, f9 @60mm.

Very nice, I love these types of shots, and the fact this is great in color (where most of these seem to only have a chance in b+w) is awesome. I do however wish that the tree on the left wasn't pulling my eye so badly, it really closes up that side where as the right side is open and my brain isn't liking it. Crop 1/6 off the left and it's better I'd say.

Andy,
Thanks, I was really playing with the cropping options. The big tree on the left had about an inch of green foggy forest to the left of it. I think this crop was an improvement over the original crop so I was kind of blinded by this one. I was wrestling with your suggestion and decided to try this out. I tell you, you can't sneak anything by you folks on this forum.

Hey Eric, Nice shot...I do like these types of images although they are hard to get right....
I like how the greens go from left to right and then back down a little...I think that really takes the eye through the image

This works pretty good for me, Erik. That fog was just perfect here, wasn't it?
