I was intrigued to see this interview this morning about Microsoft's default wallpaper images for Vista, apparently several were selected from a 12 day "mad dash" shoot in southern Oregon.
Apparently the photographer received a flat fee for delivery of 15 images. I hope it was handsome.

"Apparently the photographer received a flat fee for delivery of 15 images. I hope it was handsome. " I think this quote might reveal a clue as to that.
Q: Do you have any plans to make your collection of 15 photographs available for the public to download and use as wallpapers?
I will be offering photographs from the entire photoshoot, not just the 15. Images will be available for download for the public on my Flickr website in maximum resolutions of 1920×1200 pixels (wide-screen). Those images will be ready in the very near future.
