Finally we got some snow, actually a real snowstorm today, so I couldn't leave home. Fortunately the snow brought Bullfinches in to my backyard. The photo is full-frame (minus 10% off from the top), taken from a hide.

Hi Helge
A nice pose. I would prefer the snow to be a bit more prominent (not your fault!) as it just looks like dust/scratches on your lens!
Also I feel the shot is just a little bit flat and would benefit from a tweak in levels/curves, not a lot, but I think a small adjustment would help.
I have seen 2 bullfinches in the UK this year. One was 50 yards from my place of work sat in a tree. No chance for photographs though.
cheers

Great shot.
But agree that it looks a little flat.Plus i would be tempted to clone out the snow streeks.
I used to get a male and a female together viset my garden, but i hav'nt seen them for ages .

I like the muted colours and composition.
I think I would also clone out the snow as there is not much off it.

Nice one Helge, it has that special snow lighting, great detail in the perch to.

Hi Helge
Only yesterday I saw 2 pairs within 150 metres of my home and they were my first this year - no longer a common bird in the south of England, so always good to see a nice shot!

Nice shot! i love the way snow acts like a reflector lighting everything from underneath. I love bull finches (i dad as an apple farmer hates them)
