Heading to Page this Sat to shoot Upper Antelope but I was informed that I had to pay $39.00 for a guide to go in Upper Antelope, can anyone add insight?
If I don't need to pay a guide, do I just pay at a gate when I arrive there?

Last i knew you dont have to have a guide to go to upper. I think you can just pay at the entrance. Never been in upper myself, so i cant say for sure. Dont miss lower if you havent been there before.

Upper Antelope does require joining a guided tour. Lower Antelope only requires an entry fee and you can spend as much time there as you want.

To add to Guy's comment, Lower Antelope also gets a lot fewer tourists. It's not a flat and easy walk like Upper is, so you won't have as many people walking through your pictures. Personally, I prefer photographing in Lower. Plus, as Guy also pointed out, you have a lot more time to work there.

It looks like I may be too late to add my two cents. I have been to both upper and lower Antelope. I would think that this time of year would not be as crowded so if you time it right you may still be able to get some good shots. It is my understanding that direct beams don't happen as intense since it is not summer. Feel free to prove that statement incorrect with you input and/or photos. Good luck. I love this spot!
