I am very privileged to have this chap visit the garden now and again through the week.

After watching him for a few days i saw that he stays on the ground under the small trees and bushes that are there in a certain area, to see what he can find.

So i set myself up near one of his pathes that hes explores. And waited with my 70-200mm, under some camo netting.Well as you can see he came to check me out

I kept to a more shallow DOF and concentrated on the eye/head area.

Full frame at 70mm

C & C welcome

Thank you for your view

A great perspective and a sharp, detailed shot.Just a bit too big in the frame for me though.

I like this shot, almost a fisheye effect! I agree with Justin though that it's a bit too big in the frame. As you've concentrated on the eye/head area maybe a crop to just the head would work better?

I don't mind the dunnock being so big in the frame because it shows off the detail in the plumage so well.

They are much more than just a 'little brown/grey job' when you see them this close.

Nice one!!

Such an intense stare, definately a bird at work on the forage.

Great detail. The closer the better IMHO. Excellent :toast: :toast:

I normally don't like the subject to be too big in the frame - but I like the perspective and for me the image works. Great detail!

Not too big in the frame for me - it has a certain "wow" factor about it. Superb detail.

Hi Alan. Well done! This is a great capture. As Dave said, you really get the worm's perspective here. Reminds me of a scene in Bugs Life :toast:

Great detail and a rather unusual pose. I , personally, like the bird to be a bit smaller in the frame.
