Before spring takes over..
Hey all,
At the tail end of a bad cold I made it out last Sunday and enjoyed the snow falling on the Linville Gorge. I'm not sure how well this shows up on the web.It has nice detail in print. It is a 2 shot stitch to make a pano-shot of the gorge from Wiseman's View.

you got some amazing detail from that lens. was this shot at 300mm? When I use my cheapy lens at 300, the details are muddy at best when I go for DOF, or lacking DOF at f11.

Hey Richard,
Nice to see you, I hope you are doing well in Cali.
I shot this at 75mm,1/25 sec @F11. I have had similar muddy experiences where it lacks so much detail that it looks out of focus. It has to be "just the right" light to be much use.
I just got my first IS lens for macro and a new wide angle lens so this tele and my big tank sized 200-400 will have to suffice for awhile.

This is nice Leann! I wondered where you've been. It seems everyone has that cold, including my family. I have avoided it so far. I wish it would snow one good time here, then I'm ready for spring!

Hey Alice,
Yes it was brutal having just enough energy to make it through work and then crash around 9 pm :-( I know people who actually developed mild pneumonia so I got out lucky.
I know what you mean about just one genuine snowfall-would be so fun. Otherwise lets go right into colorful leaf buds!!!

I'm hoping to make it to the gorge this year. My friend Bernie tells me its the less crowded version of the Smokies, and just as photgenic. He has some great stuff from there from last year. Looking forward to a couple of trips maybe with Bernie if scheduling works out! Keeping my fingers crossed!

Nice pano Leann. Doesn't sound like you guys got much snow this year. All of ours came in Feb, when I was too busy to take advantage of it.

Jimmy,
There are many trails and spots to explore. I don't think you'd be dissapointed.

John,
Nooo we didn't down in my area:-( I could hope against hope that March will bring a surprise blizzard.
