I'm heading to GSMNP this weekend and after reading that there is some coyote activity at Cades Cove, I'm wondering if it's legal to use calls to attract them in a National Park?
They are pretty skidish anyway so any advantage would be good as long as its not agin the law!

I know It's illegal to use calls for the elk so i'd bet on that it is for wiley coyotes too

Mark
No calls of any kind are allowed!
I asked a ranger about using deer calls or rattling antlers just to get a deer to raise his head for a pose and was told absolutely not. I later found it somewhere on the park web site.

Thanks for the info guys- guess I'll just have to look like a dead rabbit in order to get 'em in close!
Hopefully I'll find something else to shoot there!

Mark, be sure to look on sparks and hyatt lane very closely. I have had lots of luck there this year. Saw one last thursday very early morning on sparks. So they are out there in full force, I see them at a distance as well. Just got lucky a few times this year and got really upclose looks and photos. The one last week, we were like eye to eye. I didnt have time to grab my camera. I usually see one or two about each time I go out each week now, which has been cool.
