Kirk have just sent me a email flyer on this lens support. Looks like a good alternative to a beanbag?

Neat idea. I think I'd feel a bit uncomfortable using it on any painted or finished surface as the quick-release clamp knob looks as though it would be very easy to catch/drag when moving or sliding the bag around - ie if you wheren't carefull with it, you might scratch the paintwork on the car door or roof :eek:

May i suggest the ergo rest? Its small, doubles as a chest and window mount too.. http://www.ergorest.com/eng/products/tripod.htm
