Crested Tern
I spent a couple of very enjoyable evenings at a cafe on the beach in Melbourne watching the sun down and also the ample birdlife-Wild Black Swans,Pacific and Silver Gulls,Pelicans and Crested Terns amoungst others,I noticed that the Terns would have a good stretch immediatly before taking off so spent the next evening trying to capture this,I have cropped some oof folage from the bottom of the image to tidy it up

Fantastic image Dave. Love the colours and the detail and exposure are really nice. Good work! Bit tight in the frame for me on the right but it's subjective.

Hi Dave,

I too would have like a little more room on the right but a beauty as is though!

Nice one.

I agree about having a little more room on the right, but I don't think it is bad because its a vertical. Your eyes tend to follow the wings up and down.

Nicely captured!

How cool! you certainly applied your observations well on this great behavior shot. :toast:

Easy enough to extend the canvas and paint in some room on the right if you're into doing that. (Beg your pardon; I am not that familiar with this forum yet and how you all favor using Photoshop (or not) for alterations to images.) This is such a fantastic shot, it seems worth the effort. Would if it were mine.... (and would disclose how I made the image).

Fantastic :toast: :toast: , but I do agree this needs more room to the front of the bird,

Great light, great pose.....

Hi Dave

Great pose, good exposure with whites controlled well. I would also prefer the tern a bit smaller in the frame.

cheers
