I was out walking a few weeks ago, during our balmy 10 degree weather, and noticed some shadows on the Dunnville sandstone. For some reason I didn’t take any pictures but later had second thoughts. I convinced my wife to go on a ski trip the next weekend, by then it was below zero but sunny, which took us past the Dunnville Sandstone cliffs. This is the sandstone used on the Saint Thomas Church in NY. I took several shots but liked this one because is shows the beauty of the stone.

The graphical qualities of the composition are very nice. Was this cliff the result of mining the stone, or is it a natural formation?

This was a natural formation near the Dunville Quarry.
