Hurry Up Spring
I'm tired of winter with no snow....let's bring on spring!! This was taken from the entrance to Oconaluftee Visitor Center looking across the road at all the redbud trees in bloom. My favorite flowering tree in spring. D70. :wavey: Where is everyone planning to go this spring to shoot?

Great image and colors, though it reminds me of how miserable I feel in spring time. (allergic to everything). I remember driving out last year thru Missouri and Indiana on the way to Louisville, and seeing redbud everywhere but not enjoying any of the scenery because my nose kept running. My other trip to Missouri five years ago felt the same way too. I've got issues apparently. :frown:

What do you mean "when" spring comes? Come to Florida, it's already here Alice. I was out photographing the dunes yesterday barefooted and in shorts and T-shirt (no kidding!). Life's a beach.

Leann - At times it is, but overall this has been a pretty cold winter; has hit freezing 2 or 3 times so far. I can barely remember the last time that's happened in Gulf Breeze in one winter (I think it was the winter of '83-84 perhaps which was abnormally cold). Still, overall, not a bad place to life!

Can't wait till Spring gets here! I am planning on getting up to the balds this year. I just loved those blooming fence row shots you guys took last Spring. They were just spectacular! Can't wait till it warms up here in Indiana, the last 4/5 weeks here were just brutally cold. We didn't get above freezing for the whole time and just recently got a short thaw. I can't wait! :frown:

Yes it was last year! Getting close though, my daffodils are about to bloom and the hyancinths and crocus are blooming already.

Alice, my wife and I are planning to be up near Cherokee for four days over Easter weekend. We plan to stay in our travel trailer in a campground in Whittier. We're arriving Thursday evening and leaving sometime on Monday. Our plans are to hit GSMNP and some sections of the Parkway. Hope to see some of you folks up that way.

I know of a spot close to your neck of the woods that may have some nice "diva" trees that I hope bloom or bud out in pretty colors. It also has a permanent tree stand I plan to utilize for wildlife watching. :jump:
