Now this is a waterfall.....
I just got back tonight from doing a speaking engagement at eh NFRCC ( Niagara Frontier Camera Club 46th annul convention held on Grand Island NY ( Between Buffalo & Niagara Falls) We have a great weekend . I spoke with 2-3 others including Darrell Gullin ( hes great--and one of Canon's "frontiers of Light-- check out www.gulinphoto.com.

We had a few hours on Friday to get out & shoot the falls ( we ended up shooting birds--go figure?)

Here is a shot (in kind of bad light) of the water of the Niagara River, before going over the edge of the falls ( from the American Side). I like the blue-green water a lot. Check out the trees coated in ice in the background. luckily the wind as at my back or I'd have looked like those trees. It was 16 degrees & really blowing when this was shot.

Jack, that really is a waterfall. I'd really like to feel it's power in person one of these days. I really like the coated trees in the background, and the color of the water is nice.

Whats wrong Jack didn't you have a wide enough lens to get it all in.  Very nice image.

...You got that right, it's certainly one of the waterfalls. Nicely composed here. Your shutter speed works pretty well too. I could even see going faster with the shutter speed to convey the sense of power here. Nice!

I like how you positioned the crest of the fall. What lens are you using now to shoot your birds.

BTW, I was give you a call this evening.
