Popped down to the local lake the other day to find the coots in full spring mode!! plenty of fighting and squabblin going on.

Hi Andy - great action (was that really 1/100th and not 1/1000th)
What most impresses me is that you've not 'blown' the comb - coots are really hard to expose correctly and not overex the beak and comb - you've just managed to hold on to it for the most part
Excellent shot

Andy

Very nice action shot. I like the waterdroplets and the bird's expression.

Hi Andy,
A very well exposed image showing good detail in the blacks and white's
I like the water droplets and the pose of the Coot, to me looks like the head/eye could do with a bit more sharpning.
Nice work

I don't think I've seen birds fight as much as coots do.
This one looks good.
I agree with Rob about it needing just a bit more sharpening.
A nice capture, I like the drops of water in mid air.

is this better? i think coots must have a hard up bringing which makes them angry!!!

Hi Andy,
Yes I think the sharpness looks good now.

Great image and very well exposed....not easy with a bird like a coot!
