Hi all,
Am looking at getting a bigger camera pack for all those treks around Dartmoor etc, and had narrowed it down to the Tamrac Expedition 7 which seemed to give lots of space etc for all the miscellaneous equipment I need (couple of lenses, lunch, clothes, bag hides and so on).
No-one has these in stock in the UK at the moment (or so it seems) so thought I'd see whether anyone here uses it and can recommend it as being worth the wait, or whether I should cut my losses and go for something else.
Worth mentioning that I'm 6'4" as I have heard the Lowepro ones (eg nature trekker) are not so great for the taller guy I'm pretty fit & strong tho (at least I hope so!) so am happy to carry a bit more weight if need be...
Any advice/recommendations greatly appreciated...
Thanks,
Mark

Hi Mark,
Give Aspen of Hereford a call on 01432 853 020, he is a really helpful guy and deals mainly in Tamrac and Lowepro, he will give you the pro's and con's of both makes. I'm 6ft 7 and got a Tamrac expedition 7 from him and it is a quality bag and comfortable to carry.

Hi Mark
I changed from an old Lowepro to an Expedition 7 and have been very satisfied with it. I have back problems and the Tamrac spreads the load well and is comfortable to use when the straps are all correctly adjusted to fit your frame.

Hi Mark,
I own an Expedition 7 bag and it is very comfortable, even when loaded with gear. There are many adjustable straps that fit the bag precisely to your body so that it does not move about during a 3-4 hour hike. It is also very waterproof.
Regards Chris.

Though not the expedition 7 i have the 787 Extreme super photo and can vouch for its comfort. I'm 6' 3" and its just right for me.

A good decision - it's an extremely comfortable bag, and slightly bigger than the Lowepro equivalent meaning it will accommodate a 500mm - I also manage to get a body, flashgun, convertor and 3 other lenses in!!

I was looking at bags at Focus on Sunday. I was looking for a bag that will take the 5D with grip attached as my Mini Trekker is a little shallow to be ideal. Lowepro have launched a new trio of backpacks - the Vertex range. They are deeper, and have lots of facilities that suit the digital photographer. However, I came home with a Kata HB-205 backpack- the whole feel of the bag is much more solid than either the Lowepro or Tamrac range and the zips are really strong. It's a simple well thought out design. The harness is good too and fits my frame really well. The larger version of the pack the HB-207 has some additional features.
