When i visited Finland for the first time ....still in my slide days...i managed many images of Pine Crossbeaks. Ever since i have NEVER been able to photograph them...that was untill a few weeks ago, when we found a flock of them eating on the last berries.

Nice image Rene and certainly good timing as far as catching the food in the air between the mandibles. Colours on the berry head are really nice too, and stand out really well against the snow.
If I was to pick nits the fact that the tail is so dominant and out of focus makes it more of a distraction to me than it might have been with normal orientation, and I think I'm correct in believing that the correct name is Pine Grosbeak.
Having not yet got one as a tick on my proverbial European list though I'm still very envious!!

Hi Rene,
A very nice composition.
The bird looks good upside down and in mid-feed.
I also like the subtle colours and the way the colour of the faded leaves matches the birds head.
Very nice indeed.

Another good species to have on file Rene. Your trip really was very productive.
I really like this, OK a touch more DoF would have been nice for the tail, but for me it doesn't detract a lot the captured action and pose more than make up for it.
Hi Rene I have had a look at this image quite a few times trying to make up my mind although a fine image there's something about it that doesn't float my boat if you know what I mean, still I wouldn't mind having it in my collection as I have no images of this species at all.
Hi Rene,
Really like this, particularly the behaviour and acrobatic pose, but most of all it's the way the attractive orange colour of the birds head and leaves complement each other so well and stand out so nicely from the light coloured backdrop that really catches my eye.
