Hi all,
I am traveling to Phoenix Arizona in the middle of April for about six days. I wanted to see if anybody had any suggestions on some good places to hike and of course get some pics in that area. If I have time I'm going to try to get to the Grand Canyon for a day.
Me too! I was just about to post a request for info on any available "Photographer's Guide to Arizona" or the Phoenix/Tucson area. I'll be there for a workshp in the middle of April, and a couple extra weeks before and after.
Thanks to all!
Gilbert Water Ranch is a great spot in the Phoenix area for Avian Photography. You can google to learn more about this Riparian Center with more than 4 miles of hiking trails and ponds. Another way to get an idea of the types of birds there is do an avian search on this site for Gilbert. If you be a birder, you wont be disappointed.

I am conducting my workshop based in Page from April 12-15th with one day shooting in Monument Valley. I have spent time in Arizona, (including the Phoenix area) every April for the past 12 years. I would be happy to furnish an information or try to answer any questions you may have as best as I can. Please send your emails to jack@jackgrahamphoto.com.
April is a great time in all parts of the desert southwest. For those going for the 1st time , the only advice I will give, is to take your time, absorb what is happening in this beautiful area. One has a tendency to get caught up in the blooming cactus etc. Slow down and enjoy the moment, and then make some nice images!
