Google Earth has just released updated terrain data and imaging data for the entire states of Utah and Wyoming. Detail has increased significantly in many areas. What used to show as dark and light blobs, now shows rocks trees and water. Very cool!
I frequently use Google Earth for scouting photography and backpacking locations. Last year, the image data for most of Wyoming was just awful. Now I could just about pick where to pitch my tent in the Cirque of the towers.
Thanks, Scott! Earlier this week, I was scouting out locations in Escalante to prepare for an upcoming trip and noticed the improved detail. I could see someone's tent along Hole In the Rock Road. The canyon detail was awesome. I'll have to check out the Wind River Range - I can probably see where I passed out!

It's even worse when I'm at WORK!
Actually "they" told us to take it off of our machines at work - wonder why?
