I printed an image the other night and there were very faint, evenly spaced horizontal lines across the entire page. This has to be coming from either print head or the print head carriage, not from rollers. This is a first for me; never had a single issue with the R2400 until this. I ran a nozzle check, looked good. Cleaned the heads anyway, ran another nozzle check, no difference. Ran the Head Alignment, no difference. I've contacted Epson, but am currently awaiting their reply.
What about ink levels on all the cartridges? I have an R1800 and I've had prompts not show up indicating a low / out of ink cartridges and that is what it was. Probably not the issue, but thought I would bring it up.
All ink cartridges are good. I did have one run completely out last week though - first time ever. I replaced it and charged the system, and then these faint lines showed up. Don't know if it's related or not.
Problem solved. A couple of the guys over at NSN suggested to re-clean my heads a couple more times and try it again. I probably went overboard a little, but cleaned them 4 times and re-printed and problem solved.
Bill, try not to let the printer run out of ink anymore, the element that heats the ink (piezo, or what's it called now) runs too hot, and cooks some ink stuck in it. We get angry with epson that there's still ink in the cartridges when we throw 'em away, but I'd rather have my printer working ;-)
I go with Jacco's comment. The only time I leave a cartridge in after the light goes on, is when I am just going to print 'stuff'. Unfortunately I do not have an everyday printer... I use my R2400 from everything. Need to change that by picking up a cheapy.
