Curves??

What is it? I see everyone using it here and there and I have no clue what it does or how to use it....can anyone shed some light on the subject please? Thanks.

It's usually available in advanced photo editing programs, however it does not come with Photoshop Elements - though there are plug-ins that can be found to add it for most versions.

When working in Curves, pay attention to the dark/light scales on each axis. It takes some getting used to but once you have a good handle on it, it is probably the most powerful tool for adjusting color and contrast.
