Another Lunar Eclipse Image.
Canon 20D, Canon 100-400mm L I.S. @ 400mm, Canon 1.4X Extender,
Exposures from 1/100sec to 1 second, f5.6.
Gitzo 1548/B1,remote release,mlu.

Hi,
Another lunar eclipse shot.
What an enjoyable evening it was. This night photography could get quite addictive.

The first moon was taken on a different day hence the slightly different colour despite trying to match the white balances during conversion.
Would it be better to try and get the colour similar to the second, third and fourth moons,or doesn't it matter.

All comments always welcome and appreciated.

Hi Justin,

That's a nice sequence of the eclipse.

To answer your question, I think it would be nice to have the first moon match the colour of the others. I think it would emphasise the last red moon more if the first ones were all the neutral grey colour, which is how the early moon appeared to me at the time.

The warm colour of the first moon would make it a nice moon-shot in its own right.

Thanks Richard.
Was very much looking forward to seeing your image from last night but unfortunately I'm having the same problem as I had viewing your previous upload.
Internet explorer just hangs and then a red cross appears.
Will try and solve the mystery, and hopefully get to view it in the end.

My eclipse image looks very similar to yours, Justin.
Except mine is just 4 frames.

I'm not sure what's wrong with my web host.

I reckon your host is fine and the problem is more likely at my end.
Perhaps one of the forums I.T. experts may read this and offer a solution.

Another good eclipse sequence, well exposed sharp and well presented :toast:
I would try to match the first image as it would make the sequence more consistent

Excellent idea Justin, well worth trying to match the first images colour balance.

Great series! And I also reckon it would be even better to try and match the colour of the first moon with the other three.
