I'm headed down to the Asheville area in a week or so and I'm looking for a few suggestions about a backpacking trip. I'm thinking about starting in Hughes Gap and staying the night at the Overmountain Shelter. I would then camp the second night on Hump Mountain and then head down to 19E the next day.
This trip was suggested by a friend, but I wondered if anyone else had any input...
I don't know anything about backpacking, but there are plenty of sites on the internet that will help. Google "north carolina hiking" or something like that and you will get plenty. I hope you have a good trip, it's a beautiful area!
