Have not totally dismissed Lightroom as I very much like some of the ways the Develop Module works...
Has anyone made use of the Watched Folder function? What I am looking at is whether one can export a Tiff (rather than the edit in PS function), work on it in PS then save to the designated watch folder so Lightroom can automatically add it to its db?
Thanks in advance (new computer next week so looking to just use LR + PS as an experiment really, its simple enough to revert to my old ways... )
You really should try Aperture - it would fully handle the versioning for you within the application without jumping through hoops. Using 'open with External Editor' would create a new 'version', and open PS. When you close your PS edit session, the version inside Aperture is updated. The original and versions are automatically stacked together, as are any subsequent versions you make.
Decided to stick with PC, as we are PC based here at the mus (we have no IT support for Mac, strangely), LR can do the same thing when using the edit in PS function, complete with stacking, was looking at a way of keeping track of final library edits....
