I will be going to Iceland for some birdphotography from 23/05-27/05. If anyone is interested to join me let me know.
I have hired a car, so that cost is for my account. I will be going to Vik, a 2 hour drive from Reykjavik, from where i will make day trips to the various hotspots.
Birds that one can expect are: Great Northern diver, Red throated diver, waders etc etc. ENd of May is the BEST time for bird photography in Iceland.
I will be staying at a farm hotel called Hotel Anna. www.simnet.is/moldnupur
Cost for a flight from Heathrow with ICelandair works out a reasonable £225 and the cost for the hotelroom with private facilities is approx £50,= incl breakfast.
Of course the area is also great for landscape photography.
If you are interested, give me a call on 0797-3825796 and i am happy to forward you all details.
I cannot make these dates but if you can I would suggest that you join Rene as Iceland is something else.

That just happens to be the week I've got off from work
Trouble is I'd promised my wife that we'd go to England for the week (it's her birthday on the 22nd) so that she could relax at a health farm or such like whilst I'd go off and do a bit of bird photography at any nearby reserves. BUT I'd much prefer to go to Iceland!!!
SO...Rene, what can I tell my wife she'd have to look forward to if I was off out and about with my camera in Vik? If Vik has a health farm that would be too good to be true

I have a remote chance of getting a free flight ticket to Iceland but I'm unsure if I can manage to get the time free.
I have been twice to Iceland for birding but never really stopped in Vik.
So, before making any large arrangements, I'm curious about which locations you plan to visit from Vik as well as what birds you are primarily after?
Cheers, Jens.

Thanks.
