Took me awhile to get the shot, as it was a case of choosing the right duck that i thought was going to feed on the bottom(which was luck at the end of the day lol).Oh and to get the timing right of course.

C & C welcome (please say if this kind of shot works or not ?)
I can see what your tryimg to do, but for me this image does'nt really work. If you had caught the Pochard just as the head was entering the water, so you can actually see it in the process of diving, then for me that would be a better image, although I know how difficult this shot is to execute.
I'm with Roberto on this one. Bit like a photo of a sharks fin on the water. (I want to see a little more.)
Cheers

Hi Alan,
As a naturalist I can appreciate this image, I know what it is without being told, but I have to agree with the other comments. I am not sure that this image would have much in the way of broad appeal.
Having said that it is abstract enough to maybe work for some. It would probably not look out of place in some posh art gallery somewhere

But when they dive they dont jump up first. They sit there, then just stick there heads in, and give a kick with they're feet.
I'll see what other species do to dive and see if i can get one of them in the future.
Thank you for your comment
