Stayed a few days with a friend in Norfolk. Weather was good and so was the bird watching - whilst watching a small party of Shore Larks which were not very approachable this male Kestrel came and hovered very close to me. I could not believe my luck as I have never been able to get a half decent image of this species hovering.

Hi David
Thats a cracker, with fantastic detail and very well exposed.
What a stonker. lovely exposure and brilliant light, lucky you. They say your more likely to see a Buzzard nowadays more than a Kestrel, thankfully in my neck of the woods they are still a common sight.

And lucky you having him hover by you.

Although it's a frame filler, it still maintains a delicate look (if you see what I mean). I like it a lot.

(Buzzards are far more common than kestrel where I am. Ten years ago it was the other way round. Don't see many kestrels now).
A very nice image indeed.
Great image
