Since my usual photo buddy/roadtrip navigator is unavailable, I thought I'd throw out an offer to the gang here at RMNP - maybe expand my horizons by shooting with someone else for once.
I've got room for one, possibly two, photographers for a quick trip into the heart of the Colorado Plateau (leaving late afternoon on 3/16 and returning early evening on 3/20). Photo locations include Arches NP (dawn), Monument Valley (sunset), Upper & Lower Antelope Canyons (the primary focus of the trip), possibly Wahweep Hoodoos, finishing with a sunset and sunrise at Bryce Canyon.
A word of caution - I shoot medium format film. This means that if anything goes wrong with your fancy, new-fangled digital camera, I won't be able to offer any helpful suggstions about getting it working again. On the other hand, if everything goes perfectly well with it, I will be envious of your ability to get real-time exposure information from your histogram and your viewing screen.
If anyone is interested, please contact me via the e-mail link below.

Hmmm....tempting.....do you have a supply of those astronaut diapers?
Perhaps I wasn't clear. I'm going with the intent to shoot photographs, not astronauts.
Besides, as the frightened few will vouch, I drive fast enough that even at your advanced age you may only need one stop between photo locations! Then again, maybe I misinterpreted your question - perhaps you were anticipating the need because you have already heard about my driving. Doh!
I'd definitely take you up on the offer, but I'm taking off for a similar 5-day trip the following week. We'll be heading to Page and Escalante, maybe a stop off in Arches or Canyonlands. Looking forward to hearing about the conditions. Happy shooting!
(And be sure to post images before the 23rd! )

Yeah, if the Pony Express gets his film back to him by then. We all know that film shooters require an additional 14 days to get their images back from the lab.
Geez CAZ, if you were 25-40, single, female and horny, I'd go. Don't tell my wife.

You're killing me, it's still a few more weeks before I can take time off for a road trip. Have a great trip.
Rick - I'll have the film processed before the 23rd but since I don't know how to use my scanner or Photoshop and my printer isn't calibrated... well, I've got this thing called a lightbox...

Todd - If I was 25-40, single, female, horny and blind, I'd love to have you along. And since I wouldn't know your wife if I, umm... saw? her, you wouldn't have to worry.
Adam - I know how you feel. RichieV and Kalin recently went through that area and Rene and Jim should be there right now. Hearing about their plans would have pushed me over the deep end if I hadn't already had this trip in the works.

Just a word of caution, CAZ. The Canyonlands Marathon is running on the 128 (River Road between Castle Valley and the 191) on Saturday morning and the road will be closed all morning. Not sure what time they are closing the road but the shuttle buses start moving runners from town to the start at 7:00 A.M.
Get an early start!
The weather has been incredible for the last few days and is predicted to be more of the same. Expect cool nights and warm days. Mornings have been relatively cloud free with some clouds building in afternoon.
Good light to you and whomever accompanies you on the trip!

Sounds like a great trip and if I weren't already heading that way in April I'd certainly be interested in shooting with someone new. Heck, I'd still be interested if I didn't have a conference to go to this weekend.
