How do I create and avatar file? I am using PS2 changing the image size to 48x30, resolution 300, resulting image is 25 kb. How do I make it smaller but still legible?
Thanks for your help

In "Save for Web" be sure to uncheck the box for embedding a profile.

Sorry, I am fairly new to PS2, where do I find the "embedding a profile" box? May

John is correct. When the ICC Profile box is checked, it adds to the file size making it pretty much impossible to save your avatar file small enough.

Thanks for the hand holding - we'll see what it looks like, May

Also, within Save for Web, click the small right-arrow and choose "Optimize to File Size". Enter the required file size for the avatar (15k, if I remember correctly), and save. This will give you the maximum quality you can get with that file size.
