HINTS of SPING
Folks.

I hope this image will get the juices flowing---- forget the weather forecasts---its not long now.

I know we all are now looking for anything, I mean anything to give us a hint of Spring. Last night I barbecued in a short sleeve shirt and 10 hrs later there was 2" of ice & now on the ground. My "spy's" tell me me are in for a very quick transformation into Soring.

That said, here is a shot from last year ... bleeding hearts... growing in adjacent to my house in the woods. It's not a cover shot, but one that I hope will remind us of what's ahead in not too many days.

We all know what's coming.... get your gear ready, and more so your mindset ready. More and more I am beginning to realize that photography is not the knowledge, equipment, but the mindset and preparation ( more to come ---stay tuned!).

There are two things that always amaze me. I photograph quite a bit in desert locations out west.----- Plants ( cacti etc) thrive in areas that defy life. We here in the Midwest ( I'm not in Oregon yet!) see plants that are buried for months in sub freezing ground, snow etc, and grow into what they are.... what a magnificent thing that we experience. Its a completely different ball game.

I guess my message is when Springs arrives wherever you are, take time to sit back, smell the dirt and appreciate what we are lucky enough to experience... a rebirth of life--- and if you get a good image----so be it!

It is my favorite time of the year Jack, the smell, colors and sounds are all amazing when spring finally arrives  Your image is pretty amazing itself, as well. :toast:
