I just spent ten horrifying mintes cleaning my sensor on my 1D MkII N. I've had the Delkin Sensorscope for a couple of weeks, but I've been afraid to use it because I might find dust on my sensor. So this morning I bit the bullet and took a peek at the sensor. Can you say "moonscape"? I tried the vaccuum thingy and all it did was move the boulders around. Out come the swabs and the blue juice and after a few very shaky passes across the sensor, all is well. I've cleaned it several times with the puffer as canon recommends, but it didn't do much. Unfortunately there was no way to really see what was in there until the Sensorscope came along. If you don't have one yet, put it on your must have list.

Kelly - get a Visible Dust Arctic Butterfly.
They can be a bit pricey - but wow are they worth the money.
Because I change lenses a lot there's all sorts of junk gets on my sensor, and I've got just about everything for sensor cleaning - but all strike me with the fear of God at the thought of having to clean in the 'field'.
No more!!!!
Arctic Butterfly is simple, quick and easy to use anywhere - and so far it really has worked 100% - in the last 1500 frames I've shot since I bought it I've had to clone out 1 dust bunnie - I'm really impressed.
Kelly - I fail to see the need for buying a Sensorscope.
If I don't see the dust in my images, there is no need to clean.
If I want to know where all the dust is, I stop down and shoot the sky.
Yes, I need to take and load another image to see if I need more cleaning, but for $189, I'm willing to do that a few times.
