If I was going to "bite the bullet" and get CS2 and Lightroom, it's the "PS CS2 Lightroom edition" I need, right?
This has both together?

Naively,
Sandy

I would just wait, and get CS3, unless you are dead set on purchasing CS2. Lightroom is nice, and intergrates well, but the new CS3 bridge has some nice updates also, and works alot better than the previous version. Unless you are getting LR for catalogging, then I would not purchase it. If you own apeture, than do not purchase LR, if you have neither, than LR funcitions easy, and stores nicely. I think apeture handles metadate capabilities better. But, CS3 has all the features presented in LR, which I would not use for editing anyhow. I have been using beta version of CS3, and with the update on the bugs they fixed, its fantastic.

I agree with Mike. Unless you have a specific need for LR, I would just wait for CS3. After trying both betas I was much more impressed with CS3 Bridge and ACR than I was with LR. According to the Adobe site CS3 should be out sometime in the spring, which is getting closer and closer. Can't wait.

I have been using LR with CS2 for about 3 weeks. I must say I like the RAW converter part and the Slide show part, but the library function needs improving. When I import some of my older files I find that Library will not consistently import TIFF files processed from the original RAW. I have learned there is a work around, but I just don't want to spend the time on this until they upgrade to version 1.1 or whatever when the issue is fixed. So, for now, I use the RAW converter and finish any additional editing in CS2. I, personally find it hard to justify paying for CS3 when I have only had CS2 for about a year. LR was enough for now.

Cheers,
Ed
