Yesterday, 16 American Plains Bison were released at Rocky Mountain Arsenal NWR. It was a great day for a bison homecoming after more than 100 years missing from the CO prairie.
The majestic animals appeared to be in great shape after a 15 hour truck ride and needed very little prodding to come charging out of the trailer.
The benefit to our natural community, the prairie, and all who love nature is immeasurable.
The attached image is of an impressive bull charging from the trailer to his new home.
