I have been watching a pair of grebes for a few days and noticed that when the pair started their courting display and did the head shaking thing the makes would quickly shoot off about 10m or so and the female would then swim up to him and start again,This image shows him doing his 10m dash

Nah, he's just training for the outdoor athletics season :biggrin:

This is where observing behavior comes up trumps. You were expecting this dash so caught it superbly.

Top notch image, you may have known he was going to do it but to capture well is another thing and you have done just that.

Very nice action shot dave.

Love the splashes he made in the shot aswell. they add so much to the image.
