Hi all,
I hope I'm in the right place. Does anyone know if Photoshop Elements 3 works with the Nikon D80? I have used it with my D70 for a while, but after purchasing the D80, it will not load the images off the camera. It must go through the Nikon Picture Project. The raw converter is not the same as it is for the D70. I downloaded a plug in from the Adobe site, but either I don't know how to use it, or it stil doesn't work. I like the raw converter with Adobe, but am I out of luck? The converter the D80 uses does not have as many options. I'm stuck. Any help would be most appreciated.

Hi James,

Adobe says Elements 3 will work with your D80. You probably need to update Adobe Camera Raw to version 3.6. See this page at Adobe's web site. Hope that helps.

That will fix it. Elements 3 runs on the same ACR engine as CS2, so you can get raw converter updates. I don't think I get all of the same ACR functionality, but it has worked well for me so far.

Thanks guys. I got the updates but I don't get all the options with the D80 that I had with the D70 such as in the raw format the shadows, contrast and saturation. I liked those options. The only options I'm getting now are exposure and white balance.

James,
Sounds like the Nikon plug-in has taken over. See if you can delete it and install ACR in it's place. You'll probably find it in the same folder where ACR is supposed to live.

Rod,
You hit the nail on the head. Getting rid of the Nikon plug-in worked like a charm. :jump:
Thanks.
