This pic was taken on April 11th 2006. As you can see, it's still not looking like spring in the gorge. I was dissapointed last year. This year, it looks like I may be moving away from Portland at the end of May, so I sure hope it's going to get green and leafy real soon this year.
I've only lived in OR for 5 years and paid attention to the gorge for 2, can anyone give me a good idea of what it's looking like this year, will april 11th 2007 be a completely different story? Hope so!

I'll bet you that this year and last year are similar. We haven't had a real wet spring (or winter for that matter) and I bet the flowers hold off for better conditions next year.

2 weeks ago I posted the photo a Wahkeena Falls and the branches were completely bare.....Saturday I was up there and the buds are growing fast...I bet within 2 more weeks they are close to opening and by the 11th of April I am guessing that it will be very very nice up there...
the moss is already glowing and the water seems to be receding a bit.....
all the pink blooms on the trees in our neighborhood came on almost overnight this weekend and they look great......so my guess is that we are in for a real treat this spring and summer!!!

I'm not sure if it is upper or middle oneonta falls, it's the one you have to take a little side trail to between the two bridges over oneonta creek. I'll be it's upper Oneonta officially
