Hepatica
Well, Wayne and Tim E's posts are tough acts to follow, but what the heck! I kinda liked this hepatica I found late this afternoon...sure was a great weekend to be in the woods.

Really nice, Bill. I'm embarrassed to say, but I'm not familiar with this species. I really love the soft lavender shades and vow to find some as soon as I can! Thanks for posting!

Bill, there are some lovely pastels in these flowers, very nice. I like the comp and nice soft light set against the black b/g. And I'll ditto your comment, it was a good weekend to be out in the woods! Thanks for posting! :wavey:

Nice shot Bill, keep them coming! Which lenses did you use?

Thanks for the comments!

Tom - sorry, I should have included the technicals. This frame was shot through one of my favorite lenses - a 200 AF micro Nikkor at f/16 for 1/2 sec; D2x, ISO 100. This is a full frame shot (cropped to a 4x5 aspect ratio), and I was almost at the closest focus distance of about 20 inches (1:1 ratio). I drooled for one of these for several years, and finally bought one a couple of years ago, and have never regretted it...
