Dipper with nesting material
20D, 400mm, f5.6, 1/160, FF, ISO 100, -2/3 exp, tripod, bag hide

Shows the wet and dynamic environment these guys live in! usually with water splash near a Dipper the nictitating membrane comes down fast as a flash, but luckily this time I managed to beat him to it!

These guys are completely tolerant of me now, and as the female looks pregnant and they are busy lining the nest things are starting to get exciting!

Cheers

Hi Mark looks as though you are going to get a nice series of shots from this pair of Dippers.

Great timing. It's a fine shot without the splash, but those drops flying everywhere add great action and drama.

Hi MArk,

Nice action captured. Surprised you aren't whacking the ISO up a bit? Thought the 20d was good for noise? Would also like to see it a version with the Dipper a bit bigger in the frame. Very nice image of something I've only seen from a distance, so most envious
