Oystercatcher - Haematopus ostralegus
One with my new 20D.
1/640', f/8, ISO200, beanbag.

Taken last week from a nice warm hide at Slimbridge!

Pete,

Nice shot.

I was trying to get close to these at the weekend. Very tricky.

What lens were you using?

Quite harsh lighting seemingly, so you've done well with the whites. Perhaps a bit more black in the blacks? Looks a bit jaded if you know what I mean. Very nice though :toast:

Congrats on the new camera Pete... lighting looks to have been harsh so you have done well to maintain the detail you have, you don't say if it was shot in RAW or not, if it was I think you may be able to pull a little more from the file.
