Hello! Just wanted to introduce myself. I'm a former RMNPer, but just got a job in Vermont and will be moving this may. I will be working with the Youth Corps doing conservation work in the gorgeous green mountains. I am so excited! I know nothing about photographing the NE, but I am eager to learn, and meet some new people!

So, hello everyone, and get ready for some questions about the land, places to shoot, areas for sunrise...all that good stuff! If anyone knows a good website to get me in the right direction, let me know! Be seeing you all around!!

Jonathon,

Welcome to Vermont and NENP. Where abouts are you in Vermont?

Welcome John!

You will find the landscapes to be quite different here in the Northeast, we have lots of vegitation and the mountains are much older and don't look quite as spectacular. We do have autumn leaves, lush green summers, and of course we have lots of countryside that has been settled for more than 200 years which generates a different kind of rural look.
Welcomed to the Northeast and I hope we will see you for the wildflower season !

I will be there on May 14th. The HQ for Americorps is in Richmond. But I will be based all over the state. Do you guys know any good photographers websites that are based in the North East? I am planning on heading up to Acadia National Park for a fall excursion. I need to start compiling a list of nice waterfalls, creeks, any sort of vistas....Throw it all to me!!! I want to have a nice big list of destinations before I arrive in 2 months! :toast:

Welcome Jonathan!

My office happens to be in Richmond! Small World. We'll definitely have to get together for an outing or two.

Rich, just had the pleasure of looking through your website. It is the perfect thing I have been looking for. Your landscapes are absolutly gorgeous. It has made me look forward to moving to Vermont even more. I must admit, I'm a bit apprehensive. It's going to take some major changes on my part to capture Vermont correctly. I will need to start looking at the smaller intimate scenes to get some good photos, versus the grand vistas I'm accustomed to.
