Discovery Channel's new 11-part series "Planet Earth" begins tonight at 8 EST. If you aren't familiar with this new series, it supposedly took 5 years to create. They've captured animal behaviors that people have never seen before. It's been very highly rated.

Planet Earth

This clip gives me goosebumps! Video Clip

Just thought I'd toss out a reminder to watch it. I will be!

The promos for Planet Earth certainly look nice. Another great program out tere right now is Galapagos on the National Geographic Channel. Three hours of beautiful photography and amazing scenery.

We had this in the UK some time ago - don't miss it whatever you do. There are some absolutely stunning sequences that will stick in my mind for ever - particularly a snow leopard chasing a goat down what looks like an eighty degree mountain side and a great white shark plus its seal prey both in the air at the same time!

If I hear Sigourney Weaver say "Never before seen" one more time, I might snap! The pole to pole episode was especially bad. But the cinematography was excellent. We saw "Mountains" last night and have a deep oceans episode waiting on the Tivo.

And Galapagos was awesome too. I really wish we got that channel in HD in my area.
