We are very pleased to announce that Guy Tal has accepted our offer to be NPN's new editor-in-chief!
As you know, monthly articles have been a NPN tradition - and an important service to those who visit the site - since we first went online in April of 2000. Guy will now handle the editing and placing of articles online starting with the April edition.
I was fortunate to meet Guy in person a few years ago when I was in Utah on business travel (something I hope to do with more of you). Along with his superb writing skills and dedication to nature photography, I cannot think of a better person for this job.
So please join me in thanking Guy for stepping up to take on this important task!
Guy, a great big congrats! And quite deserving I might add. I've admired your work and your insight throughout all the years you've contributed to the site! Jim a great choice!

Excellent news! Congratulations Guy and to all of us NPN members and users as well -- we are expecting great things, Guy -- and we know you will keep this site enjoyable for is all.

This really is excellent news. Like most, if not all of us, I admire Guy's photography, and his ability to express his thoughts. Not only are his photography and articles excellent, but he is probably the most helpful individual found anywhere.
Excellent choice, Jim and congrats Guy.

Jim,,,,,I don't think a better person could have been chosen. Guy's writing and ptography skills are impressive. But what's more impressive to me is his skill in giving thoughtful, meaningful critiques. NPN is the big winner in this.
Congratulations Guy. I am very happy to read this news. I have always enjoyed and learned from your writing. We all look forward to your editorial skills making NPN even better.

I agree completely!
I was thinking about this the other day, how NPN is really about the people who participate here, and not those who "own and operate" the site. I am very happy about that, and grateful to all of those who make NPN what it is.

Looks like I'm late to the party, but please allow me to add my congratulations to the long list. This will certainly help keep NPN in the forefront of nature photography.

I must admit, I'm not to sure about this...
I wrote an article about exposure problems, but Guy said nobody wants to read about me standing naked on a glacier.
Oh well, I'm sure other writers will have better luck, and all will be wonderful.
Gary, I did mention the American Medical Association journal may be interested in some of the images.
Thanks again everyone! I am extremely flattered and humbled.

Fantastic decision Jim! Guy's contributions to this site, whether through his incredible images or inciteful narrative, have long been a standard of excellence for amateur's like myself to aspire to.
Congratulations (and condolences for all the work ahead) Guy! I can't think of a better choice for this position! Best wishes in this new endeavor!
I don't think you could have picked a better man, congrats Guy!

Outstanding News!! Congrats Guy.....the perfect person for the job.
Also, Congrat to Jim, I believe there is an old saying floating around somewhere that basically suggests that the mark of a great leader is that: they suround themselves with other great people.
It is never too late to extend well deserved congratulations. Thanks Guy. I still recall your first post. The one with the "migrating rock" on the cracked flats of Death Valley. Do I recall correctly?

I'm late to this congratulatory party too, but I want to chime in and say, "Congratulations, Guy."
I'm a relatively new member of NPN; however, in the short time, I've been around, I've received a couple of very thorough comments from Guy and have been extremely appreciative.
Jim, I think you have made an excellent choice.
Sincerely,
Carol Hyman

Wonderful news! I've often thought Guy is one of the folks who make up the heart and soul of NPN not only because of his excellent photography and writing, but also because of his generosity in taking the time to offer thoughtful and useful critiques on almost every image that graces the pages of ESS. Congrats, Guy!

Jim & Guy,
Sometimes I think when I post this far along after so many other folks that it may not get read? After all how many post can you all read. I totally understand......
But in hope that it is read, I am pleased and confident that your decision to ask Guy to be the new EIC is the best thing for NPN. Guy's writing and contributions as much as anyone have helped NPN be the best online photo site on the web.
