I ran into Tom Kennon at Lost Valley on Sunday. The breeze was a bit of a pest, but the wildflowers were EVERYWHERE!! Trillium, bloodroot, violets, Trout Lilly, phlox, etc. etc. Maybe one more etc. The forest floor was literally covered with life. And the light was great. What luck.

This may have been my last trip to Lost Valley for a while. And many other places, too. I'm trying to make the rounds of my favorite spring spots while I can. My wife, Cindy, was recently accepted into residency in Lexington, KY. Sounds like new photo opportunities to me. We will be leaving the Natural State in late May or Early June. Just in time to escape the miserable Little Rock summers. (YEA!)

Anyway, here's one of my favorites from Sunday.

By the way, the dogwoods are just starting to bloom at Lost Valley.

Nice trillium, Dominic - sorry for the delay in response, but I've been having a hard time getting through to CSNP for the last few days.

Good luck in Lexington!

Glad to hear it is not just me - I have been unable to access this site about 90% of the time the past week or two. I hope they get their problem fixed.

Sorry to hear we'll be losing a great photog Dominic, but I have a feeling wej'll be seeing ya again! The best of luck to you both!

Very strange how spring is doing up here - late flowers but the trees are several weeks early. We could use a few feet of rain...

Yep, the site has been experiencing server problems for a couple of weeks now. I saw a post on the Discussion Forum to that effect.

I really like this shot Dominic, I see why you liked the light. Good color and detail set in a pleasing comp. Nicely done!

Congrats to your wife on the Residency! Moving sounds like a big step but one you are embracing. Good luck with your career Cindy!

Now that I think about it, since you moving to Lexington, maybe you could postpone or cancel your trip to Florida and join us at the CSNP gathering in a month! I'm sure Cindy would understand!

And Tim E., make sure you don't use up all the wildflowers and blooming trees before we get there next month! :wavey:

Dominic, great shot! I am glad I got to meet you before you move away. The wildflowers were great on Sunday in Lost Valley. I will try to post a few later also.

Good luck on your new adventure.

Great shot! Congrats on the wifes residency. I know it takes alot to get to that point. Is it anything like seeing the light at the end of the tunnel? I'm sure we will see some of the new photo opp results.

Very nice flower. I captured a picture just like it last Saturday. The flowers were out in force. I also got to meet Bill Dark. When I spotted another photographer right down on the ground I knew that must be from this group. Sounds like I just missed Mr. Ernst at Roundtop too. I did not get there until late Saturday afternoon.
